Thoughtful, family-centered, and rooted in sweet love, Joshua and Rylie’s Hotel Syracuse wedding day felt like the perfect beginning to a life built on love and intention.
I first met Josh & Rylie for their engagement session at The Everson Museum in Syracuse, NY. It’s here, that I got to know them more, and I was immediately obsessed with how they loved each other.
Their ceremony took place at Hendricks Chapel at Syracuse University, a location that carries deep meaning for Josh’s family, his dad is a chaplain there, making their ceremony here feel incredibly personal and heartfelt. We wandered the Syracuse University grounds taking portraits after their ceremony.
Rylie chose a minimal and elegant wedding look, paired with a modern orchid bouquet (one of my favorites to date, simple, sculptural, and so timeless) and a cathedral veil that took my breath away (I mean it!)
After the ceremony, we made our way to Hotel Syracuse for their reception, one of the most iconic and historic wedding venues in Syracuse, NY. The Grand Ballroom was filled with the chaotic and organized energy that is a wedding day; family members chatting and reuniting after time apart, friends yelling in celebration, glasses clinking, and lots of dancing.
Once the formalities were finished, Joshua and Rylie slipped away and changed into traditional Indian attire and made their way to the dancefloor. Friends gathered a huge circle, hyped them up, and even lifted them up into the air on the their shoulders. The energy was wild!
Every moment of their day felt genuinely them; sweet, grounded, connected. No rush. Just a day focused on the people who shaped them and the future they’re building together.
Cheers to these two and the gentle, joyful way they move through life. What an honor.
