Allison and Brian’s The Inn at Taughannock Falls wedding day in the Finger Lakes was relaxed, joyful, and so beautiful.
We began the morning with their first look at the iconic Taughannock Falls overlook. It was a busy Saturday, full of hikers and leaf-peepers, but a few of Brian’s determined groomsmen somehow managed to clear the overlook for us just long enough for Allison & Brian to see each other for the first time and share their private vows. The falls behind them, the peak foliage in deep oranges and yellows, it felt like the whole park paused for them.
After their first look and some family photos, we headed back to the Airbnb across from the venue for a toast with family and friends and some relaxed group photos. It set such a great tone for the rest of the day, casual, connected, and focused on the people who mattered most.
Their ceremony took place at the Inn, with views of the colorful hillsides all around. They re-shared their vows in front of family and friends, there were tears, lots of them.
Cocktail hour included live portrait painters who created sketches of guests to take home as favors, such a thoughtful and personal touch! The energy only built from there, and by the time Uptown Groove took over, the dance floor was packed and stayed that way.
The plan was for a private last dance and a formal exit, but Upstate New York had other ideas, rain swept in at the end of the night, and everyone gathered close as Allison & Brian shared one final dance surrounded by their people instead. Honestly, it felt even better than the original plan. One of those sweet pivots that ends up being exactly right.
A fall wedding in the Finger Lakes is always beautiful, but what made this day meaningful was the people, the laughter, the little in-between moments, and the way Allison and Brian stayed present through it all.
