My grandparents are two people who are very near and dear to me. They’re some of my favorite people on this whole planet, I cherish my time with them so much!
My grandparents own a home on Chaumont Bay, a small bay off of Lake Ontario in Northern New York. I grew up spending my summers here, about an hour and a half from my home town of Oswego, NY. We call this place “camp”.
It’s a special place. Five generations of my family have set foot here. My great grandmother purchased the land and it was passed down to my grandfather when she passed.
I spent my days here with my cousins and friends playing in the “sand pit”, tubing behind the boat, kayaking, playing board games, and eating s’mores roasted on the fire. The nostalgia I get when I think about camp is out of this world.
Camp is camp because of my grandparents. They pour so much love and energy into the land, the house, and the food. Every time I set foot back here I feel so grateful that I get to experience a place that has held so much for me and my family.
Capturing portraits of my grandparents here makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Their love and commitment created a wonderful place for everyone in my family to enjoy. I’ll be forever grateful for them and everything they created!
