Tessa and Nick’s wedding at the Lake George Club in the Adirondacks was one of those extra special days, steady, heartfelt, and full of moments that stay with you.
I met Tessa a couple of years before her wedding. Her dad is friends with my uncle, and they connected us thinking we’d get along, and they were right! From the start, there was a comfort and ease between us, and getting to document her wedding felt especially meaningful because of that.
Tessa wore a classic bridal ball gown and truly radiated elegance. She and Nick shared a private first look down on the docks, just the two of them, lake behind them, mountains in the distance. Quiet, emotional, steady. That moment set the tone for the rest of the day: calm, grounded, and surrounded by the beauty that is Upstate, NY in the fall.
Their ceremony overlooked Lake George, framed by peak fall color. Tessa’s father walked her down the aisle, and one of my favorite photos from the day is the moment right before that walk, the two of them smiling at each other in the doorway, right before walking down the aisle together.
Family was woven into every part of this day. Nick’s sister officiated the ceremony, and the entire celebration felt deeply rooted in love and connection. Nothing rushed, nothing forced, just a day focused on being present with their people.
As the sunset, the Lake George Club ballroom filled with warmth and joyful energy. Speeches, dancing, happy tears, the kind of reception that feels full in the best way. Later in the evening, Tessa changed into her reception dress so she could move and groove freely on the dance floor, and she did! The dance floor was packed all night! They ended their night as Wagon Wheel played on the speakers, and their family and friends all wrapped into a circle and surrounded them while singing at the top of their lungs.
Being part of this wedding was special, not only because of the beauty of the day, but because of the relationship Tessa and I had beforehand.
Tessa & Nick, thank you for trusting me, for welcoming me in so fully, and for such a meaningful day. What an honor!
